For those who might be interested he was C E Brock brother to H M Brock, R H Brock and Tom Brock. The first two drew in similar styles. CE Brock died in 1938. HM Brock lived till 1960 and actually completed the dust covers for Sampson Low's edition of Jeffery Farnol novels originally developed by his brother. Their studio in Cambridge was littered with period furniture and clothes to assist them in the accurate illustration of many books (including Herbert Strangs historical children's books as well as Jane Austen editions). HM Brock was also a cartoonist of note and produced many cartoons for the humourous magazine "Punch". Some of these can be viewed at punchcartoons.com.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
