A Dangerous Deception

Last week my fourth novella for D C Thomson, My Weekly Pocket Novel, was released. It is a Regency romantic adventure but from the cover you would think it set in the middle ages. The girl is as beautiful as one might hope for a heroine, but her costume and the room setting are hundreds of years out of date.
What the black triangle behind her head is meant to be, I have no idea. Perhaps it is part of her head dress, but whatever it is, she wouldn't have been wearing anything like this in the early part of the 19th century.
I hope readers who bought this were not disappointed to find the contents did not fit the cover image.
Best wishes
Fenella Miller

Yay! (though I agree with you about the cover.) I just picked up Pia Tapper Fenton's 'Marry in Haste' at Tescos yesterday. DC Thomson seem to be doing a lot of Regencies which is great.

This kind of illustrative cock-up is not new of course but, when an illustrator is commisiioned one would think that (a) the illustrator would read (some of) the story and (b) the editor would check on the final result. An Anne Herries hardback large pring has the misfortune of 18th century cover for Elizabethab Story!!! We should keepcomplaining to author (tough but ....) and the publisher.
All hail to new Regency Novels - can't get enough of them.
